Zusammenfassung

Die dentale digitale Volumentomographie (DVT) nimmt mittlerweile einen breiten Raum in der bildgebenden Diagnostik der Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde ein. Der Fortbildungsartikel fasst den aktuellen Stand dieser 3-D-Röntgentechnik hinsichtlich der Technik, der Anwendung sowie auch der aktuellen rechtlichen Vorgaben beim Betreiben dieser Geräteklasse in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland zusammen. Aspekte wie der Dosisbegriff aus dem Strahlenschutz und Dosisbereiche für DVT-Aufnahmen sowie die Voraussetzungen für das Befunden der DVT-Datensätze werden erläutert.
