Zusammenfassung

Das Konzept der minimalinvasiven Zahnheilkunde bietet aufgrund der defektorientierten Vorgehensweise günstige Voraussetzungen für die Verwendung von adhäsiv verankerten und plastisch verarbeitbaren Kompositmaterialien. Im Bereich der Zahnerhaltungskunde existieren seit Längerem die faserverstärkten Komposite (FRC). Hierbei werden anorganische Fasern durch funktionelle Anbindung in eine organische Phase (methacrylatbasierte Harzmatrix) integriert. Dieser Beitrag stellt materialspezifische Eigenschaften von FRC-Materialien sowie Aspekte zu deren biologischer Verträglichkeit vor. Zudem werden die auf dem Dentalmarkt verfügbaren Materialien präsentiert. Ein praktisches Fallbeispiel zur direkten Herstellung einer faserverstärkten Kompositbrücke rundet den Beitrag ab.
