Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals pioneered a UK robotic surgery programme for radical prostatectomy and cystectomy with Intuitive’s da Vinci system in 2004 [
1]. The assessment of surgical platforms continues with Medtronic’s HUGO robotic assisted surgery (RAS) system. This commentary led by two robotic naïve medical students, describes robotic radical prostatectomy by the two systems in parallel. BAUS Robot Assisted Surgery Guidelines [
