Abstract
In the oral and maxillofacial region, most mucoceles arising from minor salivary glands are observed on the lower lip, and less frequently occur at various sites such as the ventral tongue, oral floor, hard and soft palate, buccal mucosa, lingual frenum, uvula, and retromolar and peritonsillar regions. Because mucocele arising from ectopic salivary gland tissue is extremely rare, we report a rare case of mucocele arising from ectopic salivary gland tissue between the bilateral geniohyoid muscles.
