Medical imaging professionals face many challenges that can affect their health and well-being. Long working hours with high workloads, unpaid overtime, and high demands on image interpretation with fast turnaround times in dimly lit rooms are just a few of the factors that contribute to reduced job satisfaction and symptoms of burnout. These challenges not only affect professionals’ quality of life, but also have implications for patient care and medical errors [
1]. A study in Taiwan illustrated the contemporary radiologist’s workload: the number of images interpreted increased more than fivefold from 2005 to 2020 with the current mean time for interpretation being 3 seconds/image [
2]. Although the study is not from Europe, it is representative of a global trend towards increasing use of high-resolution cross-sectional imaging. …
