The principle of arrhythmia entrainment is nearly as old as the field of cardiac electrophysiology (EP) itself. In 1977, Waldo and colleagues observed that in patients who developed atrial flutter after open-heart surgery, pacing slightly faster than the tachycardia cycle length could result in continuous resetting of the tachycardia without termination [
1]. In subsequent years, re-entry was established as the mechanism for atrial flutter and Waldo’s criteria for successful entrainment were put forth [
