Befestigungsmaterialien in der restaurativen Zahnheilkunde

Zusammenfassung

Dentale Zemente sind Biomaterialien, die in der restaurativen Zahnmedizin dazu verwendet werden Zahnersatz permanent oder semipermanent zu verankern. Der folgende Beitrag gibt eine Übersicht über die gängigen Befestigungsmaterialien und enthält Hinweise zu deren Eigenschaften und Anwendung. Insbesondere Kunststoffzemente gewinnen im Zuge einer defektorientieren Zahnheilkunde zunehmend an Bedeutung. Damit sie erfolgreich eingesetzt werden können, sind – sowohl zahn- als auch restaurationsseitig – umfangreiche Konditionierungsmaßnahmen und die Wahl eines geeigneten Adhäsivsystems nötig. Bei Implantatrekonstruktionen stehen Zementreste im Verdacht, Entzündungen in der periimplantären Mukosa auszulösen. Deren Vermeidung wird ein hoher Stellenwert bei der Verwendung zementierter Restaurationen beigemessen.

Der Aufbau von Geweben und Organen während der Embryonalentwicklung wird von den Zellen bemerkenswert choreografiert. Für diesen Prozess braucht es spezielle sogenannte „Organisatoren“. In einer aktuellen Veröffentlichung im Fachjournal Nature Cell Biology berichten Forschende durch welchen Vorgang diese Organisatoren im Gewebe entstehen und wie sie dann die Bildung von Zähnen orchestrieren.

Aus diesem Grunde trägt die erste Ausgabe in 2024 erstmalig den neuen Titel.
