Zusammenfassung

Ebstein Barr Virus (EBV) und das humane Herpesvirus 8 (HHV8) sind die wichtigsten Tumorviren des Menschen in westlichen Ländern. Dabei entstehen lymphoproliferative Erkrankungen und maligne Lymphome durch eine fehlende oder mangelhafte immunologische Bewältigung der primären oder meist üblichen latenten Infektionen. In diesem Kapitel werden die sehr unterschiedlichen Entitäten mit Virusnachweis in den neoplastischen B-, NK- oder T-Zellen, sowie die Beziehung zu verschiedenen Formen der gestörten Viruselimination und Immundefizienz dargestellt.
