Zusammenfassung

Mit der operativen Entfernung von Weisheitszähnen werden alle Zahnärzte, Oralchirurgen und Mund-Kiefer-Gesichts-Chirurgen täglich konfrontiert. Dabei fallen der Interaktion und Aufklärung des Patienten eine immer wichtigere Rolle zu. Von der präoperativen Diagnostik über den eigentlichen chirurgischen Part bis hin zur Nachsorge sollen klinische und technische Herausforderungen für eine optimale Behandlung gemeistert werden. Wichtig ist, patientenindividuell die optimale Behandlungsstrategie zu finden, um die Weisheitszähne möglichst schonend und ohne größere Komplikationen zu entfernen. Inwieweit dabei Techniken wie die Koronektomie in den klinischen Alltag implementiert werden, werden zukünftige Studien zeigen.
