Sonographie der Halsorgane

Zusammenfassung

Der Ultraschall ermöglicht in der Untersuchung der Halsorgane in vielen Fällen eine Beurteilung, die derjenigen mit Magnetresonanztomographie oder Computertomographie überlegen ist, und ist damit nicht nur eine First-line- oder Point-of-care-Modalität, sondern kann Fälle bildgebend diagnostisch abschließen. Durch die gute sonographische Erreichbarkeit vieler Halsstrukturen haben technische Fortschritte v. a. in der hochauflösenden Sonographie und im Post-Processing einen besonderen, starken Einfluss auf die Möglichkeiten des Ultraschalls. Im klinischen Fokus stehen Lymphknoten und Speicheldrüsen, aber auch sonstige am Hals auftretende Erkrankungen bzw. Schwellungen können mit Ultraschall gut abgeklärt werden. Zu spezielleren Anwendungen gehören ultraschallgestützte Interventionen wie z. B. die Biopsie oder die sonographische Beurteilung von Nerven. Wie bei jedem bildgebenden Verfahren ist zur Befunderhebung eine umfassende klinische Kenntnis notwendig. Dadurch, dass die Ultraschalluntersuchung selbst durch die kontinuierliche Beurteilung verändert wird, lassen sich Ultraschalluntersuchungen nur mit einem angemessenen klinisch-medizinischen Wissen adäquat durchführen.
